The article observes and analyzes the existence of accounts about violence in the Bible. They do not seek to propagate or motivate violence, but to offer ways to contribute to its overcoming. The approach is religious and interdisciplinary, encompassing exegesis, hermeneutics and history. The representations of Cain, Abel and Adam, as well as Isaac and Abraham, are significant for reflections on the power to do God's will or not. Finally, it affirms that religion, in and through Jesus, has the fundamental function of being the architect of peace building through the humanization.Downloads
