A ALTERIDADE COMO EXPRESSÃO DE UMA ESPIRITUALIDADE NÃO RELIGIOSA NA ARTE DOS SÉCULOS XX E XXI

Resumo

Esta pesquisa pretende demonstrar como o tratamento dado à questão da espiritualidade na arte moderna e contemporânea mobilizou a noção de alteridade, tendo a espiritualidade de culturas não ocidentais como principal referência por artistas preocupados em recuperar a noção de espiritual em suas obras. O estudo desenvolveu-se a partir de pesquisa bibliográfica sobre obras e artistas que trataram do tema da espiritualidade no período estudado. Como resultado, foi possível demonstrar que existe uma relação entre arte, espiritualidade e alteridade na produção de diversos artistas. Esta relação pode ser dividida em três grandes fontes de inspiração e referência estética, sendo elas: o esoterismo ocidental, as práticas e técnicas espirituais do oriente (orientalismo), como o yoga, e as práticas espirituais inspiradas em povos originários, como o xamanismo e o neopaganismo.

Professora da Universidade do Estado do Pará (UEPA). Doutora em Antropologia Social pela Universidade de Brasília (UnB), com pós-doutorado pela Universidade de Coimbra.
